Langley is an impact crater on the extreme western edge of the moon's front , so it is invisible as a result of the libration and, if visible from Earth, it is heavily distorted. It lies west of the Oceanus Procellarum , between the Galvani craters in the south, the edge of which Langley partially covers, and Volta in the north. The secondary craters Langley J and Langley K lie on the northeastern rim . The crater rim is heavily eroded.
