Lanxi (Jinhua)
Lanxi ( Chinese 兰溪 市 , Pinyin Lánxī Shì ) is an independent city in the independent city of Jinhua in the Chinese province of Zhejiang . In 1999 it had 660,524 inhabitants. The city lies on the great Lanjiang River and is not far from the important trading city of Yiwu . The provincial capital Hangzhou is very easy to reach by bus or train, which commute between cities several times a day.
The ancient villages of Zhuge and Changle (Zhuge, Changle cun minju 诸葛 、 长乐 村民 居) and the traditional architecture of Zhiyan village (Zhiyan cun jianzhuqun 芝 堰村 建筑 群) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 1996 and 2006, respectively .
Both the old town, with traditional Chinese houses, and the island in the river are particularly beautiful. There are numerous entertainment options and a large park on the island. The Essen street in the city center is also impressive. There are countless restaurants with outdoor seating. The food is generally an attraction of the city, because there are a lot of little things here that you won't find anywhere else in the People's Republic of China .
