Lara Wendel
Lara Wendel (born March 29, 1965 in Munich ; actually Daniela Rachele Barnes ) is an actress and photo model of American-German descent, who mainly worked in Italy.
Life and activity
Lara Wendel is the daughter of the US actor Walter Barnes , who was also temporarily active in Germany, and the German Britta Barnes née Wendel, who, like Lara Wendel's brother Michael Barnes, played a few small roles in Italian films in the early 1970s.
As a three-year-old Lara Wendel came from Germany to Italy, where she appeared in public as a photo model at the age of five. From 1972 to 1974 she worked under her real name Daniela Rachele Barnes or Daniela Barnes in several Italian films as a child actress. In a frenzy of blood , she performed with her mother and brother. She first used the stage name Lara Wendel (after a combination of the last two letters of her first name Daniela, the first two letters of her second name Rachele and the maiden name of her mother) in the Italian-German coproduction Play We Love (alternative title : Maladolescenza ). Here she caused a special stir because she - at the time of shooting only eleven years old - was seen in revealing nude and soft sex scenes with Martin Loeb . In the uncut version, this controversial film has been legally banned in Germany since 2006.
She built her image as a child woman (including nude appearances) in the following years with films like Mimi - A Bourgeois Drama , Ernesto (in which she played the boy Ilio and his twin sister Rachele), Desideria and September Morning . In 1985 she was in the second season of the hit television series Alone Against the Mafia , later she also appeared in horror films such as Killing Birds and Ghosthouse . Perhaps its most significant lead role she had in 1987 in Intervista by Federico Fellini .
In addition to her work as a film actress, Lara Wendel was also known as a photo model, especially with erotic recordings . She can be seen in the cover photo of the February 1985 edition of Italian Playboy , the German edition of Playboy published a photo report on her in September 1985, and the US edition in November 1992. In 1992 Lara Wendel withdrew from the public.
