The Larc Cove is a small, sheltered bay in the southeast of McDonald Iceland in the southern Indian Ocean . It is at the head of Williams Bay .
Participants in a 1980 campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions succeeded in making the first sea-based landing on the island using a LARC amphibious vehicle . This event gave the bay its name.
