Larry Cressman

Larry Cressman (* 1945 ) is an American graphic and installation artist.

Cressman studied design and graphics at the University of Michigan until 1975. Since 1976 he has taught print and graphics in the University of Michigan's Studio Arts Program . He has also taught at the University of Rhode Island , the University of Toledo, and Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

While still a student, Cressman had exhibitions in the Michigan area and received the Michigan Council for the Arts award for visual artists. The Hill Gallery in Birmingham / Michigan has shown a permanent exhibition of his works since 1986. a. at the Detroit Institute of Arts and Carnegie Mellon University , the Lenore Gray Gallery in Providence, Rhode Island, and the University of Michigan Art Museum.

Four installations by Cressman were part of the group exhibition Super-sized: Large Scale Drawing from New York and Detroit , which was shown in the Meadowbrook Art Gallery of Oakland University in Rochester / Michigan. In 2008 the painter Charles McGee presented an exhibition at the Buckham Gallery in Flint / Michigan entitled Artist Reunion with his own works and works by Cressman and Harry Zmijewski .
