Lars Ellmerich (born January 2, 1961 in Braunschweig ) is a former German football player and coach .
Career
Lars Ellmerich began his career at the age of seven at Rot-Weiß Volkmarode and moved to Eintracht Braunschweig in 1978 . Here he played in the amateur team after his youth and signed a professional contract at the age of 19 (1980/81 season). He made his Bundesliga debut on May 24, 1980 in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (0: 3). At the end of the 1979/80 season, Braunschweig was last in the table and was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . There Ellmerich became a regular player over the course of the following season and, with ten goals scored, had a large share in the direct recovery. On the last day of the match he broke his shin against Rot-Weiss Essen Frank Mill , so that Ellmereich could not take part in the relegation games against Kickers Offenbach and failed in the first half of the following Bundesliga season. It wasn't until about nine months after he sustained the injury that he made his Bundesliga comeback. In the rest of the season he played regularly, but lost his regular place in 1982/83. From the second half of the 1983/84 season onwards, he was used more often, but has had to struggle with injuries since his broken leg. In 1985, the BTSV had to enter the second division again. Ellmerich's most successful season after goals, 1986/87 (13 goals), ended with relegation to the league. He then accepted an offer from Bundesliga club FC 08 Homburg . After six months he moved to SSV Ulm in 1846 in the second division and returned to the FCH for the 1988/89 season, which was relegated from the Bundesliga in 1987/88. The resurgence succeeded the Homburgers, Ellmerich contributed among other things with eight goals. For the 1990/91 season he went to VfB Oldenburg (second division), where he ended his professional career after 14 missions due to an injury.
Around 2006, Lars Ellmerich played in the traditional team of VfL Wolfsburg .
In 2002 Ellmerich started working as a trainer at the DFB base Braunschweig / Ölper.
