Lars Oberg (born April 27, 1979 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 2006 to 2016 .

Life

In 1998 he obtained his Abitur at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and then did his military service in Pfullendorf in 1998/1999 . In October 1999 he moved to Berlin and began studying social and business communication at the Berlin University of the Arts . From 2002 to 2004 Oberg also studied philosophy, economics and business administration at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2004 he completed his studies at the University of the Arts with a degree in communications.

Lars Oberg has been a member of the SPD since 2000 - among other things, he was active as district spokesman for Jusos Tempelhof-Schöneberg (2002 to 2006), state party convention delegate, and member of the party's departmental board. In 2002 he became Citizens' Deputy in the Committee for Economy and EU Funding of the District Assembly in Tempelhof-Schöneberg.

From 2004 to the beginning of 2008 he was a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development , initially in the department for fundamental questions in the new federal states, from December 2004 to December 2006 in the department for economic and funding policy for the new federal states and finally until the beginning of 2008 in the department for “fundamental questions of economic policy ”. From January 2008 to December 2009 he headed the Investor Recruitment and Location Development Department at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. From December 2009 to April 2014 he was a consultant at the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Since May 2014 he has been a consultant at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

In 2006 he ran for the SPD as a direct candidate for the House of Representatives in the Schöneberg-Süd constituency and was elected on September 17, 2006 with 39.9 percent of the vote. Lars Oberg was a member of the committees for science and research as well as education, family and youth in the Berlin House of Representatives. Since November 2008 he has been the spokesman for science, universities and research in his group.

In his function as a member of parliament, he was also a member of the board of trustees of the Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus and from 2006 to 2011 chairman of the board of trustees of the state center for political education in Berlin. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives.

In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 he was again able to win the direct mandate in the constituency of Tempelhof-Schöneberg 2 with 36.6%. In 2016 he decided not to run again.
