Lassi Toivola
Lassi Toivola (born February 13, 1931 ) is a former Finnish wrestling referee . In 2005 he was inducted into the FILA International Wrestling Hall of Fame .
His father Aleksanteri Toivola won the silver medal at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris. Aleksanteri Toivola had been a member of the Viipurin Voimailijat sports club , which was relocated to Helsinki after Viipuri's cession to Russia, since 1916 , and which Lassi and his brothers also joined and thus came into contact with wrestling.
Toivola was used as a referee in the wrestling competitions at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, 1980 in Moscow, 1984 in Los Angeles, 1988 in Seoul and 1992 in Barcelona. He also directed wrestling matches at 32 world championships between 1970 and 1991 and 35 European championships between 1969 and 1992.
In September 2005 he was inducted into the FILA International Wrestling Hall of Fame for his services to wrestling .
