Latin America News is a monthly magazine that reports on current developments and background topics from politics, society, culture and the economy in Latin America and the Caribbean .

The editorial staff with around 15 to 20 employees is based in the Mehringhof in Berlin-Kreuzberg . In addition, authors in Latin American countries work with the editorial team. Ten issues appear each year. The journal is associated with the Chile-Latin America Research and Documentation Center and cooperates with Linksnet .

history

In the summer of 1973, among others, Urs Müller-Plantenberg founded the Chile-Nachrichten . The broader range of topics led to the name being changed to Latin America News in the summer of 1977 . In these first years the magazine reached a monthly circulation of up to 8000 copies.
