Latin Percussion (LP) is an American manufacturer of high quality percussion instruments with a focus on Latin American music .

The LP company was founded in 1964 in New York City by Martin Cohen. He was a fan of Latin jazz and had trouble getting bongos from Cuba . So he made them himself. The company grew and moved to Garfield, New Jersey .

The company is now known worldwide. Products include: bongos, congas , cajons , timbales , woodblocks , cowbells , vibraslaps , shakers , tambourines and much more. Drum Workshop has been selling the instruments since 2014 .
