The Lauenhagener See is a lake near Lauenhagen in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

At the beginning of the seventies of the 20th century about 60% to 70% of the Lauenhagener See was drained for agricultural use as pasture by separating the tributaries and diverting them into the Strasburger Mühlbach . In 1991, the lake was flooded again by damming devices and in 1993, along with the surrounding areas, was declared a nature reserve Lauenhagener See.

The approximately 12 hectare body of water is located in the municipality of Strasburg (Uckermark) , one kilometer west of the center of Lauenhagen. The lake has no natural outflows or tributaries. Due to the moor-like environment of the lake, however, there is an indirect water exchange with the Strasburger Mühlbach, which flows along the eastern shore of the lake. There is a swimming area on the northern shore of the lake. The maximum extent of the Lauenhagener See is about 490 by 330 meters. In addition, as a renaturation area, the lake forms the center of the Lauenhagener See nature reserve .
