Laura Anne Gilman

Laura Anne Gilman (* 1967 in New Jersey ) is an American writer of short stories in the science fiction and fantasy genre, the urban fantasy retrievers series and the fantasy series Grail Quest. Well-known pseudonyms are Anna Leonard and LA Liverakos.

Life

Laura Anne Gilman attended Skidmore College (a liberal arts college) in Saratoga Springs , New York . She began her publishing career in New York City as an editorial assistant. After publishing several short stories (she sold her first professional work to Amazing Stories in 1994 ) and some media tie-ins, and working her way up to executive editor, she began her first own series ( Retrievers , 1st vol. 2004) on publish.

Wren Velere and her partner Sergei Didier are retrievers (retrieval specialists) in a little different New York than we know it. (There is “magic”, but it does not compete with technology, it actually lives off the electricity.) If your clients lose an object, they ensure that it comes back to them. Sergei (as zero) is responsible for the organizational and Wren (as Lonejack Talent) for the action.
