Laura Hebecker

Laura Hebecker (born July 29, 1993 in Halle ) is a German basketball player .

career

Hebecker began playing basketball in a school working group and joined the youth department of SV Halle in 2005 . In 2010 she won the German U17 championship title with Halle in the female youth basketball league (WNBL) and was named WNBL player of the year. In the 2010/11 season, the 1.81-meter-tall winger was named the best newcomer to the women's basketball league . In the years to come she became the “face of women's basketball in the city of Saale”, as mz-web.de put it in June 2017. In November 2015, she tore a cruciate ligament.

In the summer break of 2017, after completing her business studies, she switched to TSV 1880 Wasserburg within the Bundesliga , but tore a cruciate ligament again in September 2017.

National team

Hebecker took part in European championship tournaments with the German U16, U18 and U20 national teams. At the U20 European Championship in 2013, she was the fifth-best scorer of all players in this tournament with 14.1 points per match.

In 2013, she made the leap to the women's national team .
