Laura Kaeppeler (born March 2, 1988 in Kenosha , Wisconsin ) is an American beauty queen and winner of the 2012 Miss America election.

Laura Kaeppeler grew up in Kenosha and attended Carthage College , where she received a Bachelor of Arts in music in 2010 . She previously attended St. Joseph High School .

In 2009 she won the Miss Kenosha election . After Kaeppeler was elected Miss Wisconsin 2011 , she represented her state in the January 2012 election for Miss America . She was also able to win this competition. She is the first Miss Wisconsin since 1973 to do so.

In April 2014 she married the television producer Mike Fleiss, who was also a juror in the Miss America 2012 election.
