Laurence Steinberg

Laurence David Steinberg (* 1952 in Long Branch (New Jersey) ) is an American psychologist . His research results make such an innovative contribution to the understanding of youthful experience and behavior that they have a significant impact on politics and society. For example, in 2005 the United States Supreme Court referred several times to Steinberg's studies in abolishing the death penalty for juveniles.

In 2013 Steinberg was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
