Laurent Pierre Marie Boutonnat (born June 14, 1961 in Paris ) is a French composer , pianist , filmmaker and music manager .

biography

Boutonnat was born in Paris, the son of an entrepreneur and an advisor to the Ministry of Social Affairs. Boutonnat has three sisters and one brother.

At the age of five he received his first piano lessons, at the age of 17 he made his first feature film, La Ballade de la féconductrice . In 1984 he wrote the song Maman a tort with Jérôme Dahan . At this time he met the singer Mylène Farmer . Boutonnat and Farmer began an artistic collaboration. For them he produced music videos and the albums Cendres de lune and Monkey Me .

Ten years later, Boutonnat produced his second feature film, Giorgino , which received mostly negative reviews after achieving cult status with a DVD release in 2007. Boutonnat and Farmer decided to split up because of this failure. While Farmer emigrated to the United States, Boutonnat stayed in France. In 1995 they reconciled. After a number of successful albums, Farmer and Boutonnat wrote Alizée's first two albums . From then on, Boutonnat produced more commercial music videos.
