Laurenz Hugl

Laurenz Hugl (born December 22, 1867 in Wetzelsdorf ; † October 5, 1952 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and farmer. Hugl was a member of the Federal Council from 1927 to 1932 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1932 to 1934 .

Hugl attended elementary school and held several functions in agricultural organizations. Politically, Hugl was also heavily involved in local politics in Wetzelsdorf, where he held the office of mayor from 1907 to 1940. Hugl was able to exercise his office as mayor after 1938 after he had protected a local group leader of the NSDAP from persecution in 1934. In addition, Hugl was a member of the Federal Council from May 20, 1927 to June 3, 1932 in the interwar period and then moved to the state parliament from May 21, 1932 to October 30, 1934 as a representative of the Christian Social Party. Hugl was also active as a local councilor from 1946 to 1950 after the end of the Second World War . He was also the founder of a water association.
