Laurie Kern
Laurie Kern (born February 6, 1957 ) is a former Canadian javelin thrower .
In 1975 she finished fourth at the Pan American Games in Mexico City .
At the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, she won bronze, and at the Pan American Games in 1979 in San Juan, she was fourth again.
In 1980, Canada's Olympic boycott prevented participation in the Moscow Olympic Games. At the alternative Liberty Bell Classic, she won with her personal best of 57.44 m.
In 1973, 1979 and 1980 she became Canadian champion.
