Lavinia Agache Carney (* 11 February 1968 in Căiuţi (Bacau) ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She started gymnastics in 1975 and took part in the World Championships for the first time in 1981 . In Moscow, where the Olympic Games had taken place a year before, she finished fourth with the Romanian team. Her best individual placement was fifth in the jump.

At the 1983 European Gymnastics Championships Lavinia Agache won four medals. She became European champion on the beam. She also won silver in the all-around competition and on the uneven bars, as well as bronze in jumping. She also won four medals at the world championships later in the year: silver in jumping, on uneven bars and with the team, and bronze on bars.

In 1984 Agache successfully participated in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. There she became Olympic champion with the Romanian team and also won an individual medal with bronze in the jump.

After a knee injury, Agache had to stop competitive sports in 1985. In 1991 she moved to the United States and got married.
