Colonel Lawrence Kermit "Red" White (born June 10, 1912 in Tennessee , † April 5, 2006 ) was an American Army officer during World War II , director of the Foreign Broadcast Information Service and later deputy head of the CIA .

Career

White joined the CIA in 1947. From 1950 to 1952 he was Deputy Assistant Director of the Office of Operations and Assistant to the Deputy Director for Administration from 1952 to 1954. From 1964 to 1972 he was Executive Director-Comptroller . Then he retired.
