Lazarevo ( Serbian - Cyrillic Лазарево , formerly Budžak / Буџак) is a district of Banja Luka , the largest city in the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina . Lazarevo is located in the northern part and is one of the largest residential areas. It consists of the two districts, Lazarevo 1 and Lazarevo 2.

According to the 1991 census , Lazarevo had 15,786 inhabitants.

Attractions

There are two sacred buildings in Lazarevo . There is the Roman Catholic. Trappist monastery Mariastern , at the beginning of the 20th century the only Trappist monastery in south-eastern Europe and with 219 monks at that time the largest Trappist abbey in the world. The Serbian Orthodox Church is dedicated to the Holy Great Martyr Prince Lazar (Lazarica of Banja Luka).
