Le Markstein

Le Markstein is a small French winter sports resort in the Vosges . It is located at around 1200 m on the Route des Crêtes a few kilometers northwest of the Großer Belchen and belongs to the municipality of Fellering . From Kruth , the D27 leads to Markstein. The Treh is a popular starting point for paragliders and hang-gliders .

On the initiative of World Cup co-founder Serge Lang , a total of four races of the Alpine Ski World Cup took place in Markstein, where he himself learned to ski, in the 1982/83 and 1986/87 seasons .
