Le Puits d'Enfer

Le Puits d'Enfer ( German  "The Well of Hell" ) is a stream that flows through the Haut Val de Sèvre southeast of Les Sables-d'Olonne into the Atlantic . The watercourse serves as the border between the communes of Saint-Maixent-l'École and Nanteuil and between Nanteuil and Exireuil in the Vendée department in France .

In front of the "cascade" is the Moulin du Puits d'Enfer, ( German  "Mill of Hell's Well " ), near a water reservoir where the Rabané and Renardière streams meet.

Its name comes from the place where the stream flows through a rocky valley about 50.0 meters deep just before it flows into the sea.
