Le Tour

Le Tour is a village in the commune of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc , Haute-Savoie department , France .

It is located at the upper end of the Chamonix Valley at 1,453  m , 2.5 km northeast of Argentière . The Arve river rises a little above and flows through the village. The “Le Tour – Charamillon – Balme” ski area stretches from the village to the Swiss border at Col de Balme , with a gondola lift, a chair lift and several ski lifts.

To the east of the village are the Glacier du Tour and the Aiguille du Tour mountain and the high mountain passes Col du Tour, Col Supérieur du Tour and Fenêtre du Tour, all of which have the same name as the village.
