history
They were sponsored by Public Enemy , with whom they also toured. The band's first release was Mt. Airy Groove on the Elektra Records compilation Rubáiyát: Elektra's 40th Anniversary . Her debut album A Future Without a Past was released in 1991. It contained the hits Case of the PTA , Sobb Story and The International Zone Coaster .
Their second and last album TIME was released in 1993. From it the singles What's Next and Classic Material were decoupled. The album, whose title stands for The Inner Mind's Eye , was not as successful as A Future Without a Past .
As fans and media focused more and more on Busta Rhymes instead of the band as a whole, a dispute broke out and in 1993 the Leaders of the New School finally dissolved. On the piece Keep It Movin by Busta Rhymes 1996 released first solo album The Coming the group could be heard together again. According to later interview statements from Busta Rhymes, the band is still divided.
