history

The family brewery was founded in 1876 by Jules Lefèbvre. In 1916, the factory was dismantled by German occupiers during the First World War ; Jules son Auguste rebuilt it in 1921. In the third generation of the family, Gaston Lefèbvre had a filling system installed. The brewery survived the Second World War , but brewing activity had to be severely throttled. The fourth generation of men followed in 1954 with Pierre, the fifth with Philippe in 1975 and the sixth generation of men in 2002 with Paul in the management of the traditional Lefèbvre family of brewers. Since 1983 the company has also been brewing various types of beer under the Floreffe brand , which has been licensed by the Floreffe Abbey .
