Göttingen catalog
The Göttingen catalog (more precisely: Göttingen catalog of didactic models ) was developed by Karl-Heinz Flechsig from 1975 and describes the basic forms of didactic action ( teaching-learning methods ).
To do this, he uses twelve descriptors :
- Didactic principles
- Learning environment (model-specific learning locations and elements)
- Learning tasks (typical model tasks to be worked on by learners)
- Competencies (skills and abilities that the model is suitable to impart)
- Phases (in which the teaching-learning process is typically divided)
- Roles of the learners (who take on these according to the model)
- Roles of learning assistants (who take on these according to the model)
- Institutional contexts (educational institutions for which the model is particularly suitable)
- Knowledge areas (for which the model is particularly suitable)
- Target groups (for which model-specific designs are particularly suitable)
- Embedding in courses (programs)
- Variants (of the basic model)
From this he derives basic models, the selection of which is, however, controversial with 2 12 possibilities. These teaching-learning forms are classified according to the size of the learning group ( social type ):
- Alone or in a small group:
- Case method (assessment case, decision case, inbox task ...)
- Distance learning ( distance learning , Funkkolleg , Telekolleg ...)
- Individual learning space
- Individualized programmed lessons
- Study cabinet
- Learning network
- Learning project
- With individual support:
- Individually, as a small group or in a class:
- Exploration
- Learning exhibition
- As a small group or in a class:
- Small group learning talk (exchange of experiences, evaluations ...)
- Learning dialogue ( Socratic dialogue , Maeutics )
- Simulation (also role play )
- In class groups or groups of any size:
- Time-limited teaching events, which are more used for professional development, are omitted:
- Work class
- Case method
- Learning conference
- Workshop seminar
