The Leiber Group GmbH & Co. KG manufactures and distributes worldwide die forgings made of aluminum . The combination of forming and machining technology with subsequent assembly enables Leiber to produce forged parts ready for installation.
The group has production sites in Germany (headquarters) and in Poland (Leiber-Poland).
history
The company was founded in 1928 by Valentin Leiber as a “mechanical workshop for the repair of agricultural and business equipment” in Emmingen.
In 1965, the foundation stone for today's orientation was laid with the establishment of an aluminum drop forge.
In addition, Leiber has also manufactured motorized transport equipment since the 1950s, and later also municipal vehicles such as B. the panther . The vehicle construction division was sold in 2007 to the Max Holder company in Metzingen , which, however, filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Then Joachim Leiber took over the vehicle construction division, which he now operates in Engen .
With the growth, the technology was expanded further, so that in 1985 Leiber was the first closed-die forge with a continuous CAD - CAM - NC strand in equipment manufacturing.
In the course of globalization, subsidiaries were founded in Spain in 1992 and in Poland in 1995. However, the Spanish subsidiary was closed again in 2007.
The Leiber Group employs more than 900 people at two independent locations in Germany and Poland
Today's product range
As an international supplier, the company focuses on the automotive and industrial sectors. Drop forged parts from the Leiber Group are also used in aviation and rail vehicle construction. Since 2014 the Leiber Group has been producing lightweight components for sporty cars in the brake area in series, which are manufactured from two different metals using the hybrid forging process. The development for this started in 2008 in Leiber's own R&D.
