Life Guard Cossacks

The Life Guard Cossacks were an elite force of the Russian army , which belonged to the guard corps and the escort ( Russian konwoi ) of the Russian tsar ( Russian Собственный Его Императорского Величества Конвой ).

It passed

  1. the 1st and 2nd Leibgarde - Don Cossack - regiment with the regiment of the Czar ( Лейб-гвардии Казачий Его Величества полк ) and the Ataman regiment of the heir ( Лейб-Гвардии Атаманский Его Императорского Высочества Наследника Цесаревича полк ). Each regiment had 4 squadrons .
  2. the Ural Life Guard Squadron ( Лейб-гвардии Уральская казачья Его Величества сотня )
  3. the 6th Don Battery Guards ( Лейб-гвардии 6-я Донская казачья Его Величества батарея ) with drawn guns , which belonged to the mounted artillery brigade

No. 1 and 2 were assigned to the 1st Guard Cavalry Division.

The convoy of Tsar further formed the 1st and 2nd Life Guards Kuban and the 3rd and 4th Leibgarde- Terek Cossacks - sotnia each with 130, 245 in the war Cossacks.
