The Terek Cossack Army ( Russian : Терское казачье войско) was a Cossack army standing in the catchment area of ​​the Russian River Terek .

The Terek Cossack Army and the Kuban Cossack Army had a common army sataman who acted as commander in chief of the Caucasian military district and was called "Deputy Army sataman of the Caucasian Cossack armies". The so-called "Deputy Ataman", whose seat was in Vladikavkaz , stood under this commander-in-chief . The territory covered 21,309 km².

At the beginning of 1887 there were 148,568 people in the army and 11,526 people not belonging to the army.

Today there is again a Terek Cossack army in Russia, which performs border security tasks in the Stavropol region , the Republic of North Ossetia , the Ingush Republic and in Kabardino-Balkaria .
