Personal company

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the first company of a regiment was referred to as Leibcompanie or Colonel Company . The colonel and owner of the regiment was also the owner of the personal company, which brought him additional income through the company economy. The same applied to the company ( lieutenant colonel company ) whose owner was his deputy ( lieutenant colonel ), and later also to a major's company ( majors company ). These companies were actually led by a lieutenant captain or staff captain , who were ranked below a captain who was also the owner of a company.
