The Austrian Athletics Federation presented at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow with Andreas Vojta and Gerhard Mayer two participants. Four other athletes achieved the international norm. Due to injury reasons, both the sprinter Beate Schrott and the heptathlete Ivona Dadic had to forego participation. The long-distance runners Günther Weidlinger and Andrea Mayr refrained from participating in the World Championship because they concentrated on other races.
