The athletics hall in the arena sports park was built for around eleven million D-Marks in the North Rhine-Westphalian capital of Düsseldorf . The occasion was the Athletics World Cup in 1977 in the then neighboring Rheinstadion . The arena sports park denotes the entire sporty usable area of the area belonging to the Rheinstadion, which was demolished in 2002. In 2004 the hall was renovated and modernized for more than ten million euros. It is the largest sports hall in the city and has an extendable grandstand.

The hall is equipped with the following sports facilities:
- Pole vault
- High jump facility
- three long jump facilities
- Training facility for discus and hammer throw
- Training facility for javelin throwing
- Shot put range
- three weight rooms
- 200 meter running track
- 110-meter training sprint track
Sporting use
In the winter season (October 1 to March 31) numerous events - mainly athletics festivals - take place in the hall. The hall is mainly used as a state athletics performance center. It serves numerous top and amateur athletes for daily training. It is also available to schools in Düsseldorf, clubs, and popular sports. The ASC Dusseldorf uses the hall as a training venue.
