The light aircraft manufacturer is a state-recognized training occupation according to the Vocational Training Act .
Duration of training and structure
The training period to become a light aircraft manufacturer is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .
Work areas
Light aircraft manufacturers produce light aircraft such as motor gliders , microlight aircraft , but also gliders . To do this, they use fiber composite materials and light metals , from which they first manufacture individual components. They check the components for dimensional accuracy , surface quality and material defects and then assemble them into assemblies until a light aircraft is finally created. Light aircraft manufacturers also perform inspections of control systems, landing gears and navigation instrumentsby. They find their job in industrial companies in the manufacture of gliders and light aircraft.

With the completion of the training, light aircraft manufacturers have the opportunity to pursue further training or a further degree:

- Industrial business economist
- Technical manager
- Engineering degree
