Leigh Ledare

Leigh Ledare (* 1976 in Seattle , Washington , USA ) is an American photographer and video artist .

Life

Ledare became known for his photo series and video films in which he documented his highly erotic relationships with his mother, a former celebrated ballerina. After moving to New York , where he initially lived with Larry Clark , he met Nan Goldin . In 2008 Der Spiegel and in 2009 Frieze Magazine reported on his video and photo work.

Nan Goldin curated an exhibition for him at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2009 entitled Ça me touche . In 2012 further exhibitions followed in Brussels and Copenhagen .
