Leila Hatami ( Persian لیلا حاتمی; * October 1, 1972 in Tehran ) is an Iranian actress. She is the daughter of director Ali Hatami and actress Zari Khoshkam .

life and career

After graduating from school, Hatami attended the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne , Switzerland. There she first studied electrical engineering , but switched to French literature after two years .

As early as 1984 she worked in the film Kamalolmolk . After her return from Switzerland, she received her first leading role in the film Leila , for which she received the honorary award for best actress at the 15th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.

In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.

During filming, she met her colleague Ali Mosaffa , whom she married in 1999 and with whom she has a son (* February 2007) and a daughter (* October 2008).
