Leipzig Genealogical Society

The Leipziger Genealogische Gesellschaft e. V. (LGG) is active in the field of genealogy (genealogy / family history) and local history in the city of Leipzig and the Leipzig area. According to the statutes, the purpose of the association is to promote education in terms of genealogy and regional history. The seat is in Leipzig .

history

On June 7, 1990, the Leipziger Genealogische Gesellschaft eV was formed from the Working Group Genealogie Leipzig at the Kulturbund der DDR , founded in 1979. V. emerged. Uwe Bauer, who held this position until 2005, was elected chairman. Since then Martina Wermes has been the club's chairwoman. The magazine Familie und Geschichte has been published by Degener & Co. since 1992 . The entire table of contents of the magazine Familie und Geschichte is updated regularly and made available on the association's homepage.
