Leipzig Poetry Library

The Leipzig Poetry Library is a special library for contemporary poetry with an exclusive reference inventory .

It was originally set up in Tübingen in 1994 by Gerhard Oberlin , the founder of the Society for Contemporary Poetry , and in 1997, after several years of storage, the supervising association moved to Leipzig . Today it is housed in the Leipzig City Library . The collection comprises more than 5500 media, including books of poetry, anthologies , poetological writings and audio books. It also runs better-known and lesser-known literary journals, including some with very small editions. New media mostly come from book donations or authors' bequests.
