The Lej Marsch ( Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Puter for lazy, stale lake , Old Saxon. Mersc - also called Masch , Mersch or alluvial land ) is a 100 × 50 meter lake near Champfèr in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . It is located at an altitude of around 1812 m .
,Location and surroundings
The freely accessible swimming lake is surrounded by forest. There are showers, toilets and several campfire sites on the banks. A small restaurant and a kiosk offer catering options. A small sandy beach was created on the north bank.
In addition to several types of fish live in the lake as well as crayfish . The Lej Marsch drains into the Inn through an approximately 150 meter long brook .
The lake owes its name to the Marsch family, who maintained contacts with the clergy and nobility in Germany.
The Olympic hill is located above the lake .
