Lemur , real name Benjamin "Benny" Stottmeister (* 1981 in Wolfsburg ), is a German rapper from Lower Saxony. From February 2007 to April 2014 he was part of the rap duo Herr von Grau . After separating from his band partner Stefan Kraatz, the Berliner by choice founded his solo project “Lemur” in 2015 and from then on was solely responsible for the beats, lyrics and management.

Benjamin Stottmeister started rapping when he was twelve. At the age of 19, he also started producing beats. In addition to rapbeats, he also makes rhythms of electronic dance music. After some time as a solo artist, he became a member of the rap formation Feegefeuer.de . Later he was part of the electro-rap live act Der Aksel des Bad . In February 2007 he founded the rap duo Herr von Grau with the musician Kraatz , from which he separated in April 2014 in order to go his own way.

With noise 2015 Lemurs first solo album was released on January 30 at the Dresden label Circle Music , for example, the musicians under the Captain Peng , Shaban and birds eat the earth are. On October 28, 2016, Lemur and rapper Marten McFly released their EP Provisionalium , which was very well received by both fans and resulted in further projects and joint appearances. A short time later, on November 11, 2016, the track Identitetris by the newly founded band Pavlidis (founded by Ohrbooten members Ben Pavlidis and Matze and Beatmaster Shaban) was released, on which Benny is featured as a feature together with Captain Peng.

Two years after his first solo album Noise , Lemur's album Die Rache der Tiere was released on January 27, 2017 . This consists of twelve songs in which the rapper settles accounts with humanity, the music business, old business partners and the hometown. Marten McFly, Nazz and FairS will be there with feature appearances.
