Lennart Metz (born November 4, 1993 ) is a German cross-country skier . He starts for the WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal .

Career

Lennart Metz stood on skis for the first time at the age of three. He started his career in the high performance center St. Andreasberg in the Harz Mountains. Metz took part in junior races until 2013. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in Liberec , he won bronze in the sprint. In January 2013 he won gold in the sprint at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Liberec. He has been competing in the Alpine Cup since 2013. He ran his first World Cup race in Davos in February 2013 , which he finished in 55th place in the sprint. In March 2014 he won his first World Cup points in Drammen with 15th place in the sprint.

Metz is a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Frankenberg, Saxony .

In the summer of 2016, his home ski club, SK Oker, announced the premature retirement of Lennart Metz.
