Ingvar Lennart Pettersson (born February 1, 1951 in Uppsala ) is a former Swedish Air Force general and pentathlete .

Career

Pettersson was in 1980 at the Olympic Games in Moscow the Swedish team that the area behind the Soviet Union and Hungary bronze medal won. In addition to Pettersson, this consisted of George Horvath and Svante Rasmuson . In the individual competition, he reached seventh place. In 1976, 1978 and 1980 he became Swedish champion. After his active career, he was the head coach of the Swedish all-around team from 1992 to 1996.

He was a professional soldier and served in the Swedish Air Force from 1968 , from which he retired as Brigadier General in 2006. From 2001 to 2011 he was a member of the Swedish Olympic Committee .
