Lennart Wing

Lennart Wing (born August 7, 1935 ) is a former Swedish football player .

career

Wing initially played for Örgryte IS in Division 2 . In 1958 the team was promoted to the Allsvenskan . The defender played here until the end of the 1964 season . In January 1965 he moved together with Örjan Persson to Dundee United in Scotland. Here he played until the spring of 1967 and scored nine times in 67 games. He then returned to Sweden to Örgryte IS. He ended his career at Kungsbacka BI .

Wing appeared in 36 international matches for Sweden between 1961 and 1965 . Participation in major tournaments was denied to him, only in qualifying for the European Championship in 1964 was the quarter-finals reached. A 1-1 draw and a 3-1 loss to the Soviet Union meant missing the finals.
