Lenny Solomon (musician, 1952)

Lenny Solomon (born September 28, 1952 in Toronto ) is a Canadian jazz violinist, arranger and composer.

Live and act

Solomon began playing the piano at the age of six and the violin at the age of eight. In the 1970s he formed the pop duo Myles & Lenny with Myles Cohen , which won a Juno Award for Best New Group in 1975 . With the quintet Quintessence (with Bill Bridges among others ) he played a crossover of pop and classical music in the 1980s. In addition, he worked as a studio musician on hundreds of recordings.

He made his debut as a jazz musician in 1992 with the album After You've Gone , followed in 1995 by The Gershwin Sessions with Ruby Braff and Peter Appleyard . Solomon also leads various of his own formations, such as the Lenny Solomon Trio , The Galaxy Trio and the Trio Noré, and has arranged and composed his own pieces.
