Leo Buscaglia

Felice Leonardo Buscaglia (nickname "Leo", born March 31, 1924 in Los Angeles , California , † June 12, 1998 in Glenbrook , Nevada ) was an American author and professor of education at the University of Southern California . He gained greater fame primarily through his publications on the subject of love .

Life

Felice Leonardo Buscaglia was born on March 31, 1924 in Los Angeles, California into a family of Italian immigrants. However, until the age of eight he lived in Aosta , Italy, after which his parents emigrated again to the USA . After graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, he served in the Navy during World War II . He studied at the University of Southern California, where he earned his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Later he also held the chair for Special Education at this university . Leo Buscaglia died of a heart attack on June 12, 1998 at his home in Glenbrook, aged 74.

Act

Buscaglia has published more than a dozen books in his lifetime, all of which became bestsellers . Five of his books appeared simultaneously on the New York Times bestseller list . Most of his books treat experiencing love like his first book, which was just called Love . This was based in part on the experience he had in a voluntary course he initiated on the same subject at the University of Southern California. His television appearances also gained greater notoriety in the 1980s.
