Leo Dorner

Leopold "Leo" Dorner (born December 25, 1947 in Sopron ) is an Austrian philosopher. His work focuses on philosophical remarks on national and international political developments as well as music philosophy .

Education and career

After fleeing Sopron to Austria (1948), Dorner spent his childhood and school days in Leoben . This was followed by studies in philosophy , musicology , pedagogy and composition at the university or college for music and performing arts in Vienna. In 1979 Dorner moved with his family to Linz and began working at what was then the Bruckner Conservatory and what is now the Anton Bruckner Private Universityin Linz: teaching activities, academic service and library management; Teaching assignments on philosophical and musicological topics; Lectures at home and abroad. Dorner also taught at the European Journalism Academy (EJA) in Vienna in 2008.
