Leo Menardi

Leo Menardi (born November 20, 1903 in Turin , † December 11, 1954 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and film producer .

Life

Menardi graduated in economics, but began working in various roles for silent films as early as 1926 . In 1930 he was involved in the making of the first Italian sound film, La canzone dell'amore , as an editor and assistant director . In the following years he was busy with script work; Between 1935 and 1942 Menardi was then production manager and organizer. In 1942 he made his directorial debut with Luisa Sanfelice , which was followed by three more films the following year. After the end of the Second World War, he only worked twice as production manager before he died at the age of 51.
