Leonardo González Arce (born November 21, 1980 in San José ) is a Costa Rican soccer player . He has been under contract with the Seattle Sounders since 2009 .

González started in his home country in 2000 with the first division club CS Herediano in defense. His greatest successes with the club so far have been the two finals for the Costa Rican championship in 2001 and 2004. At the beginning of the 2000s, the top European team PSV Eindhoven was interested in him, but a change did not take place.

Since 2002 he has also played in the Costa Rican national team . Although he was used in the World Cup qualification, he was not present at the 2002 World Cup. Since then he has become a fixture on the left-back. He represented his country at the Copa América 2004 and this time is part of Costa Rica's squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
