Leonhard Baumert (born October 19, 1965 in Berlin ( GDR )) is a German pianist and composer .

Life

Leonhard Baumert is the son of the writer , television and film dramatist Walter Baumert . From the age of five he received piano lessons at home. From 1973 to 1976 he was trained at the state music school in Berlin-Köpenick . In 1976 he was admitted to the special school for music at the Berlin University of Music, today's Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Berlin high school with a major in piano . In 1978 he wrote his first piano compositions. In 1984 he completed his training at the Special School for Music with the main subject "Very Good" and was admitted to the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin with a major in piano. 1985 began his concert activities as a solo pianist and he continued to study electronic keyboard instruments. In 1990 - by then Leonhard Baumert had already made around 850 public appearances as a solo pianist - he completed his training at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin with a diploma. He has been a freelance pianist, composer and arranger since 1990 . Several albums have been released by him.
