Leonid Lytwynenko

Leonid Lytvynenko ( Ukrainian Леонід Литвиненко ., English transcription Leonid Lytvynenko, Russian Леонид Дмитриевич Литвиненко - Leonid Dmitrievich Litvinenko - Leonid Litvinenko * 28. January 1949 in Smila ) is a former Ukrainian decathlete , who for the Soviet Union started.

In 1971 he was seventh at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich he won the silver medal with 8035 points behind his compatriot Mykola Awilow , who set a world record with 8454 points, and ahead of the Pole Ryszard Katus (7984 points).

In the EM 1974 in Rome, he was fourth in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal seventh.

In 1970 and 1971 he became Soviet champion.
